The focus of this workshop will be the lute songs of the 16th and early 17th centuries. It is designed to help singers, lutenists, and guitarists work on all the skills necessary to perform this beautiful repertoire. This will give students the chance to experience these songs as they were originally intended. The workshop spans three days and will include masterclasses, individual instruction, demonstrations, a faculty concert, and a student concert. Students of ALL levels are welcome. We hope this will be a fun and educational experience for students who are interested in learning more about lute song and its performance! The workshop location is the College of Charleston campus in Charleston, SC.
